This isnt true, though, it may have been at one time, but first focal planes are just as tough as second focal planes scopes. Second Focal Plane. Second focal plane scopes are the old standard. With that said SFP scopes are still quality pieces of gear and are much more affordable for those willing to do the extra work, or for shooting at the bench.
